JA Youth Peer Leaders Mental Wellbeing Summit 2026
Creating space for honest conversations around mental health can make a lasting impact.
This May, 110+ high school students came together at the JA Youth Peer Leaders Mental Wellbeing Summit to build resilience, strengthen peer support skills and explore what mental well-being looks like in their everyday lives.
Through the skills-building workshop led by the Mental Health Commission of Canada, students learned practical coping strategies and tools to navigate challenges. Interactive activities with Common Compass encouraged the practice of self-compassion, positivity and collaboration. They also heard powerful and vulnerable stories from speakers at Zurich Canada, BOXX Insurance and mental health advocates, sparking conversations around stigma, well-being and navigating digital spaces.
Thank you Z Zurich Foundation for making this experience possible, Zurich Canada for hosting and JA Canada for their continued support in empower youth to lead positive change in their communities.
