From Ideas to Impact: JA Central Ontario and Yonge Street Mission Partnership Continues to Inspire the Next Generation
JA Central Ontario continues to advance its strategic outreach, fostering equitable access to meaningful, real-world learning opportunities, by partnering with Yonge Street Mission (YSM) to empower 55 students through programming hosted in Regent Park.
Over three PA Days, students in grades 3-8 participated in JA’s Our Business World and Economics for Success learning experiences, building skills in entrepreneurship, budgeting and innovation. The sessions culminated in student-led presentations, where they pitched pop-up business ideas.
The students demonstrated incredible creativity and a commitment to giving back to their community. Their business ideas were diverse, including a smoothie shop, a cat café, a shoe store, spice shop, bookstore, music store and more! Many focused on making a positive impact, whether by creating jobs or supporting others through donations.
One student excitedly shared, “everything we learned will be used in our future at some point. Thank you for sharing these important topics with us and making it fun!”
