Giving high school students the opportunity to experience the thrills of trading on the stock market
How the Investment Strategies Program works
JA Canada’s Investment Strategies Program (ISP) is a unique opportunity for students in Grades 8 to 12 to experience the real-world ups and downs of trading on the stock market. Competing against others across Canada, participants explore the different ways in which people save and invest for their future. Students can participate in groups of up to 3. The winning students from Central Ontario will each receive a $1,000 TFSA thanks to our generous program partner, Questrade.
The program includes interactive teacher-led lessons that focus on key investment principles. These lessons culminate in an online stock market competition, called Invest JA, where students manage their own simulated stock portfolio. This five-week simulation uses live data from North American stock markets to teach students how to apply key investing principles in a real-world situation.
With hundreds of teams from Central Ontario and hundreds more from across the country, this is a Canada-wide competition like no other.
