How do young people really feel about their financial futures?
JA Central Ontario's 2020-21 School Year in Review
It’s time for us to take a look at the JA Central Ontario 2020-21 School Year in Review! Can you believe it, a whole year is in the books? We barely can either, but nonetheless, let’s take a look back at the amazing things we’ve done together to empower our students!
Firstly, let’s address the elephant in the room, the last 12 months have been some of the toughest any of us have experienced. None of us signed up for a pandemic. From seeing all our friends, family, and colleagues regularly, to almost not at all, life really got turned over on its head.
Our youth were put in some of the toughest circumstances, but they were resilient; finding new ways to leverage technology to stay connected and grow. So what did we do here at JA Central Ontario? We followed their lead and met them where they were, at home and online.
Through the aid of 66 program partnerships and 2,689 volunteers, we were able to continue to reach students with our impactful JA experiences! Just because we’re living through a pandemic, doesn’t make financial literacy, work readiness skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset any less important. If anything, the current climate of the world is showing us the increased value in these, our core three pillars.
At the end of the day, in this ever-changing world, our mission has remained the same; we are here to empower students to prosper. COVID-19 may have been a game changer, but many of the fundamental pillars have remained the same. We know the world will continue to evolve, and with the lessons we’ve learnt this past year and your help, we’ll be ready for what comes next as we continue to put students first!
