JA Central Ontario is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Holmes Weier as President and CEO, effective October 26th, 2020.

Jennifer will take over from Jane Eisbrenner, who has held the role for 10 years and has been the driving force behind creating a strong, successful organization reaching thousands of students along with a dedicated team of passionate employees.

“Jennifer brings a wealth of experience to the role,” says Jon Taylor, Chair of the Board of Directors at JA Central Ontario. “With 15 years in the non-profit sector, Jennifer is a purpose-driven leader specializing in strategy, communications and public policy. She will continue to drive the organization forward and help us reach even more students with our expert programs.”

“I am delighted to be joining JA Central Ontario as President & CEO. This is an incredible opportunity to combine my experience in youth-serving organizations with my passion for building thriving charities,” says Jennifer. “I am excited to meet the team of staff, volunteers, partners, and donors, whose actions are inspiring and preparing young people for their bright futures.”

Jennifer comes to JA Central Ontario with deep non-profit strategy and management experience, gained as an executive in the Canadian YMCA federation and as a volunteer and consultant within the sector. A lifelong learner, she is studying for a Masters of Public Policy, Administration, and Law at York University.

The selection process for a new President and CEO was overseen by a sub-committee of the Board – it has been extremely thorough and extensive. Working with both Jane and Jennifer, we are able to create a seamless transition – with Jane staying on until after Jennifer starts on October 26th to assist with the transition.

We will be sharing more information about this appointment as Jennifer begins her new role.
