Our Impact
Inspiring and empowering young people
JA Central Ontario’s 2021-22 Year in Review

It’s that time of the year when we review and reflect on the successes of the past school year, exploring how we brought our mission to life across Central Ontario.
This past year - very much like the year before it - young people faced many barriers and anxieties relating to their future. Here at JA Central Ontario, we have continued to adapt to these uncertain times - we showed up for our students and met them where they were virtually, at home and in the classroom.
In the last 12 months, we’ve reached 43,726 students and engaged 508 schools throughout 13 boards, thanks to the support of over 900 volunteers and our generous partners supporting our programs this past year.
We’ve also gone through some exciting changes as an organization. We’ve launched a new strategic plan - Empowering a New Generation – reshaping how we measure student impact and centering youth voices. We have reached gender parity on our Board of Directors as part of our commitment to equality, and we have modernized our HR Policies to reflect the equitable and inclusive organization we are today.

JA Central Ontario is committed to making a genuine, positive impact in the lives of youth across our region, our community members and those within our organization. As we look towards the future, we will maintain these values, focus on areas where we can grow and adapt as an organization, and continue our work to build a world where no young people feel left behind.
