Inspiring and empowering young people
Innovation in Action at Yonge Street Mission
For the third consecutive year, JA Central Ontario proudly partnered with Yonge Street Mission (YSM) to bring hands-on learning experiences to students. Hosted in Regent Park, the initiative advances equitable access to real-world skill development for 60 students.
Over three PA Days, Grades 3–8 students built real-world skills through interactive JA’s Success Skills and Money Modules, exploring topics like making money decisions and financial flexibility.
The experience culminated in an Innovation Challenge, where students stepped into the role of Marketing Consultants to pitch creative solutions to one key question: What’s one fun way Arm & Hammer could spark interest among kids and teens?
From catchy slogans and bold poster designs to engaging skits and persuasive presentations, students showcased imagination, teamwork and confidence. The winning ideas centered on sustainability and inclusivity, proving that even young innovators care deeply about the environment and ensuring everyone feels welcome.
This initiative was made possible thanks to funding from Church & Dwight. Thank you for helping us reach more students, supporting them to expand their entrepreneurial skillset!
