Be a leader in the charitable sector! You can make a difference for young people in Central Ontario by sharing your leadership through charitable sector governance: a call for nominations for our volunteer Board of Directors is now open. 

Use your experience in business, entrepreneurship and finance education to support youth by becoming part of JA Central Ontario, one of our region’s most high impact, youth-serving charities. Join us in creating a world in which young people have the skillset and mindset to build thriving communities. 

The opportunity 

Serving on JA Central Ontario’s volunteer Board of Directors is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who shares a passion for our mission: inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. 

The Board of Directors has the responsibility for ensuring JA Central Ontario is fulfilling its mission as well as its legal and governing responsibilities.  

Directors are elected by the JA Central Ontario voting members, upon the recommendation of the Governance and Nomination Committee of the Board.   

The commitment 

• Prepare for and attend four Board meetings per year, each of which are approximately 2 hours in length, plus the Annual General Meeting 

• Participate on at least 1 committee 
• Personally and professionally support and advance the mission of JA through fundraising and expanding our network 
• Commit to serve a 3-year term 

Board meetings are conducted in-person, via virtual platforms or a hybrid of both.
