GLOBE – Grades 11 to 12


The GLOBE program teaches the principles of international trade and the the practical skills necessary to function in a global market. GLOBE pairs secondary students in Central Ontario with their counterparts in another country to form joint-venture, import/export companies. Partner classes communicate regularly via email, fax and phone. Through sponsorship, students may be eligible to represent their company by traveling to their partner class in another country.

In 12 to 14 one-hour sessions, eight major components are addressed:

  • partnership
  • establishing a company and executive committee
  • capitalization
  • issues of international trade
  • international marketing
  • the export of domestic product
  • the import of domestic product liquidation, issues reports, and the distribution of dividends
