Dream Big program provides an opportunity for students to envision their future and understand the commitment needed to achieve personal potential.
Dream Big stresses the importance of character, integrity and hard work using classroom volunteers as a role models to help young people set their own goals. Students are encouraged to exploring their own potential through a series of interactive discussion and role-play activities.
Student benefits:
Skills Affirmation: through personal reflection, input from facilitators and small group discussion, students will realize their future through reinforcement of skills and identification of areas of growth while defining role models.
Accomplishment vs. Contribution: students will discover and define their dreams while taking part in force field analysis and examining resistances.
Internal and External Locus of Control: students will develop their skills, learn to overcome resistance, confirm their dreams and define the personal role of a mentor through role-play activities engaging others with diverse life experiences.
Articulating the Future: students begin to visualize their dreams and learn how to direct their futures.
